The Trail Fund Project is a fundraising initiative that supports volunteer groups that maintain trails and conservation infrastructure.

why should I take part?
Volunteer groups across South Africa do a lot of great work maintaining trails and conservation infrastructure. Without their dedication and commitment, ordinary trail runners, walkers and cyclists wouldn't be able to enjoy our public parks and reserves nearly as much.
The Trail Fund Project is a fun way of exploring our trails and reinvesting in them directly by empowering the volunteer groups that have a passion and drive to maintain them.
how it works
1. Every month, a public park and its associated volunteer group are selected.

+

2. A Strava segment is mapped in the park

3. You buy a ticket and get the segment details, info on the volunteer group and event description.

60c of every R1 from ticket sales is set aside for the volunteer group
4. You have three weeks to take on the segment, as many times as you like, enjoying our parks while you do ;)

Do it as a team to and get rewarded (more on that below)
5. In the last week of the month, we announce the winners and hand over the donation proceeds to the volunteer group

Prizes are awarded to:
1. Fast Lady
2. Fastest Man
3. Lucky draw for all participants
4. Lucky draw for all teams
You have to be a member of our Strava club to qualify for prizes.
